For eight years he taught at the Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, where he received an award as the best young lecturer of the university. He taught several award subjects at the St. Petersburg University of Cinema and Television. He was a finalist of screenwriting competitions held by Yandex and Walt Disney film company. He won international film festivals in Russia, South Korea, the Netherlands, Mexico, Germany, Romania, Colombia, Italy and France, USA, etc. (Short Film Corner of Cannes Film Festival, Asiana Short Film Festival). He is author of more than 200 short works: from films and videos to TV and Internet stories, corporate films, commercials and viral videos. He is one of the lecturers and mentors of THE One Film School.

Ira Volkova graduated from the Danelia Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors, workshop of feature and non-feature film directors under A. Gerasimov and A. Dobrovolsky. She teaches at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors as a workshop leader (together with P. Lungin). She headed a workshop at the Higher School of Economics (together with V. Fenchenko). Ira is a prize-winner of many Russian and international film festivals.
