Yulia was born and grew up in the Komi Republic. She graduated from the non-fiction film workshop at State University of Film and Television (SPUFT/SPbGIKiT) in 2023. Her graduation film Bitter Honey won awards at a number of festivals. Yulia teaches directing at the university and continues to make her own films.
