Roberto Valencia (Beto Val) is a children's writer, publicist and digital artist. He has worked as a creative director in several communication agencies in Quito, Ecuador for over 20 years. He co-created the magazine for boys and girls ¡elé! and a 2D short film about Captain Shield, Ecuador's first superhero, producing seven 2D animated series for Ecuadorian educational television with the production company Zonacuario.
