The Buryat returns to his homeland to get his father's waiver of inheritance left by his deceased mother. But the father has other plans for his son.
Aldar is a Buryat, but he has grown up with his mother in Moscow. After his mother's death, he learns that he cannot come into the inheritance because his parents were not officially divorced. He flies to Buryatia. His father agrees to sign the documents, but on the condition that the son spends one day with his father which they will take to go to a datsan, perform a shamanic ritual and visit the family tree.

DIRECTOR'S BIO:

Bator was born in Buryatia.
In 2016, Bator Dorzhiev's debut film, the psychological thriller Killer, was released in limited release in Ulan-Ude.
In 2018, he took part in the film anthology Ulan-Ude, I Love You’ where he shot one of the short stories.
From 2021-2023 he studied at the filmaking and scriptwriting courses (supervised by Valentin Bespaliy and Andrey Garyazh, respectively) at the film school ‘TheOneFilm’.
He has also worked extensively on Moscow film sets from administrator to second director.
In 2023 he won a grant at Baikal Pitching 2023, Irkutsk, with the script ‘Aba and Son’, the first draft of which Bator wrote back in 2014.
In 2024, the film company ‘TheOneStudio’ won an IRI (Internet Development Institute) grant with Bator's script ‘Aba and Son’ which was used to shoot a film of the same name.
