The film tells about the life and culture of the indigenous people of the Far East, the Nanai people. Their traditions based on fishing and hunting have been passed down through generations. However, the link of times and cultural continuity is jeopardized as young people are leaving their home ground. The film tells about the daily round of the Nanai people through observing their everyday life. Special attention is paid to the connection of the Nanai with the Amur River, their fishing and hunting. The film shows ethnic costumes, dances, belief in shamanism. It encourages to appreciate cultural heritage and strengthen the link between generations.
