Ekaterina and Yuri have lived in a happy marriage for many years. Everything was changed by Alzheimer's disease, because of which Yuri stopped recognising his wife and became confused in his memories: he constantly talks about the Baikal-Amur Mainline and a trip to Siberia to complete the railway. Ekatherina feels her husband as a burden and decides to send him to a nursing home for the elderly. A sudden glimmer of attention and tenderness from Yuri gives Ekaterina hope that their love is still alive.
