DIRECTOR'S BIO:
Panaila is a graduate of Turan Film Academy, director. She graduated from a musical school, majoring in piano playing.
Her favourite films are “Farewell” (2019) and “What We Do in the Shadows” (2014).
FILMOGRAPHY:
Bir Qadam – showrunner and director of the student series. Panaila was in charge of the entire project, including working in two filming units and directing three episodes.
What Will Tomorrow Bring? – director of one of the 7 almanac films: a
roadmovie about a girl and her family seeing her off abroad.
Anel – director; a one-evening story: a young woman goes to her ex’s birthday party, trying to maintain her dignity in the presence of his new girlfriend.
Trust – director; an intimate story shot entirely in the kitchen arranged in the stage.
The Happiness of Being Understood – director; a short film, which took the 3rd place at the 16th All-Republic Competition among students under the program Directing, Temirbek Zhurgenov National Academy of Arts, Kazakhstan.
